Pain Physician Journal Seeks Editor-in-Chief and Editors

Editor-in-Chief Mark V. Boswell, MD, PhD, will complete his 4-year term limit Dec. 31, 2007. The entire board and staff of the Pain Physician journal wish to thank Dr. Boswell for his dedication and service over the past four years. During his tenure, the journal has gone through many changes from aesthetics to content and to accomplishments.

In response to this, we are currently seeking letters of interest for a new Editor-in-Chief. The position has been redefined to include an additional 4-6 Editors to divide the responsibilities of this continually growing journal. The Associate Editors and the Editorial Board will remain as is.

We are also accepting letters of interest for Associate Editors and Editorial Board members. If interested please indicate your desired position and send to the above address.

The Pain Physician journal is a bi-monthly peer-reviewed, scholarly journal dedicated to the field of Interventional Pain Management. This multi-disciplinary journal written by and directed to an audience of interventional pain physicians, clinicians and scientists with an interest in interventional pain management and pain medicine. The journal strives to present the latest studies, research, and information that is vital to those in the emerging specialty of interventional pain management and critical to the patients they serve.


Editor-in-Chief
This position is for one year with a maximum of 4 consecutive terms. The Editor-in-Chief will provide leadership to the Editors, Associate Editors and the Editorial Advisory Board by fostering a cooperative work environment and implementing editorial procedures to ensure all publications are completed in a timely manner.

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on manuscripts submitted based on peer reviews and the opinion and advice of the Editors, Associate Editors and the Editorial Advisory Board.

The ideal candidate should be previously published. should also be thorough, have the ability and time to successfully meet a deadline. Candidate should also be decisive, have academic knowledge in the field of interventional pain management, and possess superior writing and editing skills.

Editors
The Editors are responsible for the selection and approval of at least one-sixth of the manuscripts submitted to the journal. Editors provide recommendations to the Editor-in-chief after the review from the Associate Editors or Editorial Advisory Board, along with their own comment to the Editor-in-Chief with recommendation to either accept or reject.
